I was always sad watching and thinking of slots free they got rid of the handle … there’s something about moving more and then just waiting that is really not bad for us and I liked that - not that I even played slots

This for sure has worked on me...even being a Pirates fan and I am grateful for it! What a great game!

I wonder how these changes have interfaces with the legalization of sports gambling? I'd assume more actions means more micro bets on stolen bases etc

Great observation. More action definitely means more attention—both on gambling apps and for ratings. I’d imagine more action within games would increase micro betting.

Oh this 100%. I’m worried about all this gambling and the outcome on our sports leagues—and fans. We’ve already seen the grief players are catching from online gamblers.

A fun read but sadly the shift has not increased batting average. MLB BA still hovers under .250 (246 right now) as it has since every season since 2019.

The MLB all-time career ba Yy Cobb’s .367.

So I think it’s got less to do with rule change and the fact it’s pretty hard to hit a small object flying between 60 MPH to 110MPH with a stick consistently.

As a paid subscriber I’d like my money back. Tired of mechanical voice, same old ads, and such material that does nothing for my health and fitness.

As a big baseball AND psychology fan, I loved reading the connection you made here.

I also fit the younger demographic the MLB has had its focus on… their intended results with us have felt noticeable! I can think of my several of my friends I’d previously describe as ‘casual’ baseball fans that’d I now consider hardcore followers (and gamblers). Another win for Vegas… and psychologists!

This was a fun read!! Thanks! Can't wait to share these fun facts with my kid at a game one day.

Am I the only one that gets frustrated watching sports though? I've always been bored with just watching games, whether it's live or TV. I love sports, but I like to play them, not watch them. Doesn't matter the sport or level of play; I have the same interest in middle school basketball as I do in the Super Bowl. And this issue is separate from ads and commercials, which is a HUGE hangup of mine with watching sports on TV. Professional football has become unwatchable for this reason.

And sports for adults are so, tame? Neutered? Boring? As an example, I don't know if I'm just a try-hard or something, but I have no interest in adult-only slow-pitch softball games; I want to play baseball. Like, REAL baseball. I don't want to be able to hold a beer while I play second base.

Does anybody else feel this? It's a constant aggravation. Haha.

Coincidentally they implement all of these changes and now are getting a baseball team in Vegas!

I'm so excited about it.

Don't hold your breath.

The last time I went to a baseball game around 2021 I got so bored I started reading my kindle, and my girlfriend at the time wasnt too happy about that haha

If I were to go to another game Im honestly not sure Id now find it engaging. Im not much of a sports person and find so many other things more exciting.

But still cool to know! I wonder if other traditional entertainment will follow suit if it hasnt already
