Great episode Michael. Looking forward to your next book and thank you for the motivation to get out and camp with friends. I’ll join you and Huberman on the 32kg KB carry first thing in the morning challenge!

Michael, I forgot the other thing I wanted to ask about was your(and I'm sure this is the same for Matt S.) is that you don't bring a stove when you camp and rely on bars/already made foods. Wondering if you have done a post on this or could share they types of foods you bring on camping trips?

I'm just getting into the camping thing and am intrigued by not having to bring one of those jet boils or stoves.

Hi Michael - awesome episode! Question on the whole nature pyramid / digital detox - you talk a lot about how your brain shifts into more alpha waves out in nature. does this still occur if you are listening to music or a podcast? Thanks!

My misogi was getting through 3 hrs of podcast! lol! Listened some before and after training and while drinking recovery shake.

Irony first: we listen to 3 hrs of podcast on our phones indoors telling us not to use our phones as much and go outside. 2-app recommended to help use not use apps!

I loved the PC as it went over salient points of 2% as well as other interesting topics. I don't listen to many podcast as I am a visual learner. The only other one this year was Pavel on Huberman. His was a master class on strength and conditioning, yours a master class on the "Why?" we need to motivate ourselves to move and the forces aligned(cultural, physical, mental) that prevent action. That's why I joined 2%, for the community, information, and seeing people implement ideas to improve wellbeing.

I practice misogi(the original intent) in the early 80s at a Karate Camp in Western NC. In the mountains, we stayed for a week at a camp with no electricity, vegetarian cooking and daily training. It's probably the site of a condo now! It was interesting to watch the city folks freak out having to navigate by flashlight at night and not having a Mc Donald's close!

We walked a ways and performed breathing katas under a small waterfall!

It was tough but eventually you settled in to just being.

Looking forward to next book ! Love, Charlie
